AP Exam's effect on applying for Canadian Universities

Hi,
As a student dreaming about studying in Canada I am wondering about AP exam's validity in order to get into a Canadian university.During my researches did not find any decent information.Actually information I found was all but about AP exams.What is the reason? and What would you suggest for 16 years old kid preaparing?
