I tried to arrange the code and its equivalent for you to know your AOT Code.

Please take note: NOC is not relevant to AOT, Quebec has its own code.

I hope this post helps you a lot. :) ;D :D

I wish to see you all in Quebec. 8)

Kindly take note:

The 2015 List of areas of training is intended to identify candidates who have earned diplomas or degrees in areas with good medium-term job prospects. It is compiled with particular regard to Quebec job market requirements.
The diploma or degree must have been obtained in the five years previous to applying for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).
If this is not the case, the applicant must have worked for at least one year out of the five years in question in a field directly related to the diploma or degree obtained and for which assessment is being made.

Hi...

I did "Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)" in "Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)" which is a four year degree (2004-2008). So, my AOT code would be "B663". Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have work experience in NOC 2174 (Senior Programmer Analyst) for 6 years (2009-2015).

From this thread, I understand that I would receive 12 points for Area of Training. Request anyone to clarify on this. Thanks in advance.

@pretty_18: I would like to know the source of the above classifications which you posted. Can you please provide this information? Thank you. :)

Abbreviation Meaning

DVS = Diploma of Vocational Studies
DCS = Vocational or technical education programs with a three-year duration leading to a diploma of college studies

An integral selection consideration is the occupation demand list known as ‘‘Areas of Training’’.
This criterion favours applicants by awarding a maximum of (16) additional points to applicants whose educational background represents an asset in the sense that it affords enhanced employment opportunities within sectors of the labour market in Quebec that have chronic labour shortages.
The January 2015 program amendments update and expand the eligible ‘‘Areas of Training’’ to take into account current labour market shortages.
Further, the Areas of Training factor is no longer a basis for ineligibility. But, applicants with diplomas which do not appear on the Areas of Training list will not be eligible for priority processing.

The Ministère prioritizes the processing of immigration applications filed by skilled worker candidates with diplomas according to the points associated with the area of training on the 2015 List of areas of training (PDF, 212 Kb).

The diploma must have been awarded within the five years preceding the application for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec Selection Certificate).
If this is not the case, the candidate must have legally practised for at least one year, during the five years preceding the application for a CSQ, a profession directly related to the diploma obtained and for which he or she is being assessed.

Up to 16 points may be awarded for a candidate’s area of training.
Given that under the most recent version of the program a single applicant required only 49 points in order to be eligible
(applicants with an accompanying spouse or common-law partner require 57 points),
the area of training may provide up to around 30 per cent of a potential applicant’s points total

“The areas of training list gives a glimpse into the types of immigrant that Quebec is seeking.
Section A occupations have been given a clear boost in points, which is great news for potential applicants with training and experience in those jobs. A potential newcomers to Canada.”

Area of training
The assessment of a candidate’s training is based on the List of areas of training.
This list contains high school vocational training programs, vocational college programs and university programs that lead to a diploma recognized by Québec universities.
For each of the areas of training on the list, points are awarded according, in particular, to job prospects and requirements for practising the occupations in question depending on whether the candidate holds a foreign diploma or a Québec diploma, or a foreign diploma treated as a Québec diploma.

To be assessed, the candidate must have received training similar to the training indicated on the list.
It is possible that candidates, whose training is included on the list, will have to follow upgrading courses after their arrival in Québec.
In addition, if their training leads to the practice of a regulated trade or profession, candidates will have to fulfill the requirements of the regulatory body in question in order to be able to practise in Québec.

Hello Guys,

I have a question. I have just finished my masters in Aerospace Engineering from Quebec. but the Quebec degrees section in AoT just shows Aerospace Engineering (Bach.) and doesn't have Aerospace Engineering (masters) in the list. Can I claim points for doing my masters in Aerospace Engineering in Quebec?

And a friend of mine has a similar problem, she did her bachelors in Philosophy and Psychology (both part majors) and her Masters in Management studies in Marketing. Can she claim her AoT points for Marketing (bach.) from foreign degrees ( Since there is no Marketing (Masters) in the list) or will she have to claim AoT points for Philosophy and/or Psychology (Bach.) ?

Can someone please help us out as we are really confused. Thanks
