Hello!

What is an AOR and how do I know I got it? Checked my status at the immigration site and it says, APPLICATION RECEIVED...clicked that and it says WE RECEIVED YOU APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY ON -------. Is this AOR?

Thanks guys.

Yes: same thing. I think it means Advice of Receipt. The members of this forum seem to love shortening phrases so that they become unintelligible. It is a kind of initiation test for new members!

AOR is "Acknowledge of Receipt" a letter to confirm your application has been received. when you see the status turns to " APPLICATION RECEIVED" , then an AOR is on the way to you or your sponsor.

It comes either via email or mail... both of my sponsorship and applicant's AORs are received via emails.

It could not mean 'Acknowledge of receipt. Acknowledge is a verb, not a noun. 'Acknowledgement' possibly?

+1 "Acknowledgement of Receipt"

And me too had to Google all these terms when i started getting info on this forum, "Acknowledge of Receipt" does make a lot more sense than Google's first first search result which is Album-oriented rock (abbreviated AOR)

More sense than Association of Reflexologists also (another Google offering). Album-orientated rock has been relegated to second place.

Thanks guy. It seems I already have it. Came at the same time as our approval notice.

Advance Happy Christmas to all :)
