Hey guys I just have a question regarding open work permit. I have applied for work permit extension on the basis of my AINP in Feb 2015 and yesterday I finally got my AOR so I was wondering that is there a way I can send a cover letter to cic branch that deals with issuing work permits to issue me open work permit instead of closed. I couldn't find a way to reach out to them as I have already submitted an application for work permit extension. I just wanna try my luck and see if I can get an open work permit. I would appreciate if someone can tell me an email address or something so that I can send a cover letter. Thanks

It reached them on Dec 29, 2014
Received AOR on Apr 15, 2015 (Yes, my application number starts with *XEP* as well)
I've submitted my upfront medicals and CBC along with my application.

For those who are waiting, you'll get your turn.. Have some patience coz I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hey bro,
We are in the same boat almost but i am a bit ahead i applied for work permit extension too, and i got my AOR on 15 April 2015. I called them to update my profile but they said my file is closed now...and my work permit has been refused...and that i had to stop work...and that new application i need to submit with Restoration of status fee... i dont understand my application is still saying " decision- NOt started yet"...and file- open...but i dont know what to do? Do you have any idea?
1- Does it affect my PR application?
2- Do i need to apply with this AOR now? to get open work permit?
3- Or do i need to ask PNP guys to issue me another updated nomination letter (my work permit is refused bcz of my PNP nomination letter, by the time i applied for work permit, it was already expired...i didnt know that my work permit is dependent on this nomination letter, i thought its for PR only)
Any suggestions and views on these questions and situation?will be appreciated
