Visafile.info turnaround is 45 days.
Technically 45 days is what they commit.. But depends on case to case. If your file is still in Ottawa you will get it in 10-15 days ... If your file has been transferred to local vo it takes 30 days or more... It's been 27 days since I ordered and still yet to receive my notes...

Hi All,

Anyone knows for how long the issued visa would be valid to land in Canada for Outland FSW applications?

Is it possible to request for longer period before submitting the passport? if it is not, requesting to extend the visa later?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Till your medicals expire (1 year).

I don't think so. Seniors might give you a correct answer.

Yes Buddy its until your medical expire...

So take my example..
I am in my 2nd app and my meds expiring on 31st July 2016.....
The only thing we can do is Re-Do our meds and update CIC via CSE..

This does not guarantee that CIC will accept it & extend our landing but no harm in trying
I am waiting for my GCMS notes n then will see if i have to update my Medicals to get some more time for landing

Hope it helps

Hi Amit,

As per my knowledge, now you can not re-do your medicals on your own and re-send to CIC. Once e-APR is submitted, CIC officials ll ask you to re-do medicals if they think that application can not be processed within time.

Moreover I have seen 2 cases where applicants were given extension of 1 month in COPR for landing because their medicals were expiring within 1-2 months after COPR.

Thanks Brother for the information, i did consult Asivad on this & this is what he/she suggested to do..

But lets hope i do not land in that scenario and get my PR soon

Thanks all for your inputs.

My medical checks will expire in January 2017. So I think there is enough time for application processing.

However, I can't land in Canada earlier than May 2017. So that's why I am trying to be proactive and plan something out.

Please feel free to share if you can think of any possible workaround :)

Yeah lets hope for that, my situation is somewhat similar to you. so i researched this thing a bit and reached that conclusion. even consulted medical center, they said i can not get my test done by myself within one year of tests done. For that i ll need specific letter from CIC.

I will be in a similar position where my medical expires in March while I do not intend to move until May-17.

The option I came across to this is that I do a soft landing before my medical expires in Mar-17 i.e. visit Canada for a short trip if 10-15 days complete your landing and get your SIN card. For PR card give address of your friend/relative (if any) who can receive your PR card on your behalf and courier this to wherever you are. If you don't have friends in Canada then there are companies who will receive your PR card and forward this to you for a charge. I don't remember the names of these companies but try looking in form title "settling in Canada" you will get good info there.

When do they transfer file to local VO, any idea?
