My Background check status never changed from "Not needed at this time" to " In Process".

Does this means that my background check is not started yet.

Yes, You can call CIC to know your VO.

But VO may change based on CIC workload and other internal factors.

CIC won't let you know your VO on phone till 6 months of your AOR. GCMC is the only way possible after 3-4 months. But let me understand, what's the deal in understanding VO at early stage?

The way to know VO over call is that ask agent that you need to raise CSE with VO where your application is being processed. then they ll tell

what i am not understanding is, why do we need to raise CSE with VO in express entry. just raise a CSE with CIC. no need to worry about VO untill n unless cic asks u to correspond with ur VO for any particular reason or VO coresponds with u regarding ur application.

As cjs has mentioned, try and tell them you need to raise a CSE with VO where your application is being processed.

I think this problem is common – that people are given 60 days but the 'myCIC' upload field specifies a much earlier deadline. Don't know why. But I believe the suggestion (from the thread that I posted earlier) is to upload the LOE before the earlier deadline (in which you can also explain the discrepancy).

I understand that your worry is CIC may put the application on hold until the FBI document is received. On this, opinion seems to be mixed. And I really don't know.

Perhaps you can email FBI customer service: liaison@leo.gov

And get something in writing from them on which date of received applications they are currently processing. And upload that together with your LOE?

I was initially asked to submit my PCC from FBI, and was given 60 days from that correspondence to submit it, I submitted a LOE right away (within 2 days) of receiving that correspondence, in which I attached the email from the FBI customer service, now a month later I have received another request for the FBI PCC and have been given 30 days from the date of this correspondence, It also says "however you may upload the document to your MyCIC account once you receive it", further it also says "Please refrain from uploading explanations and questions into MyCIC". I'm a little confused as I'm sure I will not have the PCC from FBI within the given 30 days from today the 23rd of FEB 2016 as my application was delivered to the FBI on 6th Jan. Anyone else have similar experiences??
