Question guys:

If/When CIC requests additional documents, do they send an email notification? Or, do you have to regularly check the 'myCIC' account to find out whether anything is being requested?

I am asking because I am trying to limit my frequency of checking 'myCIC' to no more than once per week, unless there is an email notification from CIC. This is to help reduce anxiety

But if they actually update our applications without also sending me an email, then I think I'd have to check myCIC more often...

Yes they will send notification to your given email when there are any changes done to your application or if any status change happens.
Today i received email from CIC, i checked, they asked for Schedule 4 and 4A documents

I wrote to the FBI as you suggested and got a reply that they were opening applications received on 7th october 2015, and that it takes more than 11 weeks for the application to show up in the system and that the total time would be between 13-15 weeks, I'll be adding that to the LOE and uploading it.

I think this problem is common – that people are given 60 days but the 'myCIC' upload field specifies a much earlier deadline. Don't know why. But I believe the suggestion (from the thread that I posted earlier) is to upload the LOE before the earlier deadline (in which you can also explain the discrepancy).

I understand that your worry is CIC may put the application on hold until the FBI document is received. On this, opinion seems to be mixed. And I really don't know.

Perhaps you can email FBI customer service: liaison@leo.gov

And get something in writing from them on which date of received applications they are currently processing. And upload that together with your LOE?
