Hi everyone, applied for PR via common law sponsorship inland, early april 2020.

Due to the processing covid-19 delays, i am worried i won't get my AOR in time before my current IEC visa runs out (late june 2020).

Can anyone explain what happens if this is the case? Can i continue working even if i don't get an AOR? as i really don't want to not work/not sure i can afford not working for a few months before getting my new OWP!

Thankyou.

(Why oh why oh why are Canada visa's still processed using paper in 2020!)

AOR doesn't give you implied status or allow you to keep working.

The OWP application is what gives you implied status and what allows you to keep working. So as long as you submitted an OWP application along with the spousal sponsorship application, you can continue working under implied status.

AOR is irrelevant.

Thankyou - so just to clarify i have entered an OWP application along with spousal sponsorship app, so i can continue working even if my IEC visa runs out and i haven't got my new OWP through yet?

Yes, provided your application doesn't get returned back to you for missing signature or some other silly reason
