Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Does anyone know the approximate timeframe between AOR and SA for US Outland spousal sponsorship?
Thanks. :)

It's usually pretty quick (< 30 days), as it's simply the approval of Sponsor...unlike the wait for AIP for an Inland applicant (sponsor approval + approval of relationship...basically).

What I am looking for is the time "BETWEEN" AOR and SA...In other words...the approximate time after getting AOR to getting SA.

I didn't apply through an American office but I don't think it would impact stage 1 approvals.

AOR by email received March 8th.
Update on ECAS that SA decision made on March 14th (although it said the decision was made on March 10th)
Letter received (in the EU) on March 18th.

I have read about people recently getting AOR and SA both by email only 4 hours apart...
It seems they make the decision of SA a day or two after AOR, but it takes a few days longer for them to update ECAS and even longer for the letter to arrive, unless you are lucky and get both by email.

As I said...It's been reported to be about 30 days "BETWEEN" AOR and SA.

Check the Outland spreadsheets here and see what the average has been.

Good luck!

Thank you...I have received AOR and was wondering about SA so that helps. Thanks :)

I received my AOR for my American spouse on January 8th and received SA via email a week later on January 15th. Sponsorship approval times were at 34 days then, so it seems they are a bit quicker now.

There is no correlation between AOR and SA, as many applicants never actually even get AOR.

You should get SA ~30 days after CIC received your app, regardless of when you got AOR.

Great...Thank you!

I submitted my paperwork a month ago exactly ( some documents I had overlooked) I have heard nothing yet. Should I be worried? My VR expires in May and I'm afraid they won't extend it without me providing notification but my application has been filed and they are aware of this as I provided the receipt.

Our app was received by CIC on January 20, 2014. We got our AOR February 19, and SA on March 12. So for us it took us just under a month between AOR and SA, but took 52 days since CIC actually got it. I think the 52 days is a bit above average, but our application is pretty rock solid and I can't imagine there are any issues.....just the usual slowness for whatever reasons.
So if you have only sent your paperwork in about a month ago, don't worry! You should hear soon -- unless you forgot to include some documents, in which case you should let CIC know and send them in asap.

I had resent some a month ago so I know my app is complete now, so I guess I won't worry. With a baby on the way, I have enough to worry about lol
