Anyone on student visa who applied TRV for their spouse ????

Hi everyone ,

I am on student visa and i am planning to bring my wife here . I have certain doubts regarding this

*Which category shud i apply visa for her?
*Shud i apply from here or from our home country ?
*What reason can i show her in bringing here (i hav just joined the course , so graduation letter is out of qstn )?
*I keep hearing i shud allpy now .. and also i heard i shud wait for my course to be over , which one is true ?

Anyone who has applied and has some experience in this do help me

which country ru from? I am guessing ur not from visa exempt country.
u can apply for ur wife's TRV or work permit depending on if she wants to work or not.....u can apply anytime as long as u have proof of funds for both of u. U can apply online or paper based but it has to be from outside canada . meaning application form shouldnt be from within canada. I applied for my wife's TRV right after i got my LOI and visa so can do it anytime u want. They dont ask u a reason u can write a invitation letter for her .

U asked me which country i am from , I am from India .

If i apply TRV for her and incase it gets approved . Can she come here and later change it to Open work permit ???

yes she can later apply for work permit from inside canada....

We are planning to apply Visiting visa thru one of the representatives in India. They have asked us to come up with the below listed docs


*Marriage document
*Bank Statement with 6000 CAD ( we have money in our joint account . Hope that will do )
*Land documents ( she don't have anything in her name , so has asked to submit her parents assets with a declaration that she will inhert tht in future)
*Her educational certificate
*Invitation letter from me
*Full time enrollment letter from my college

** all docs has to be verified by a lawyer and notarized too **

* said no need of itinerary as money will be wasted if visa gets rejected , instead tht amount will show in the bank account ( ie instead of 4000 cad will show 6000 cad)

My wife is currently unemployed.

Hope these docs will help .. anything more to be done ?

i think u should increase bank balance...thats just my opinion

Is tht so ... I already have my GIC in scotia bank ... and was planning to show INR equalent to 6000 CAD in our indian bank account ... how much bank balance do u think i shud increase in our statement ?

this is just my opinion but u should show the amount u showed for ur self plus for ur wife as per the requirements.

They also said i shud giv my address and details ... but it will not the same place we will be staying once she is here . .. so any issue if i mention my curent adress ? ... and shud i arrange and show deatials abt where i will be accomodating her ?
