I know this is not a place for a USA visitor visa questions but I would appreciate if any Canadian has gotten a USA visitor visa or visited USA after "theft under 5000" offence in Canada.

It was my first offence, 5 years ago which was withdrew on a first court date after a charity donation. I did get my PR after that since Canadian immigration does not recognize that as a Inadmissible offence (unless you get convicted).

I did some research and came to know USA immigration does have thing called "Petty offence exception" for simple first offenders. They also have a waiver process but it's costly and lengthy.

I would really appreciate some information if someone has been through similar situation and claimed "Petty offence exception"?

Thanks a lot.
