We recieved news that the meds have been recieved and interview waved but they are requesting the Common Law Declaration? The application doesn't require you send it, wish I would have done in the first place.

Thought you only needed that if your common law was a co signer? We didn't fill that in! It also says that if you are sponsoring your commonlaw partner, you cannot have a co signer therefore that form shouldn't be needed. How strange! :o

I know very strange. I'm thinking because we had withdrawn our earlier inland application so I'm guessing they just want to make sure ???

I wish they would explain WHY they want something that isn't usually needed. It just leaves you guessing and confused. If you had a proper explanation, then you would know for sure. That is what I hate about this whole process!

I know. The worst thing about it is we had one done but never sent it because it wasn't required. Oh well at least things are moving along quickly, I'll send it out tomorrow and hopefully hear something after the new year.

Iasked here, and was advised to fill it in, so I did...

Still waiting for the e-cas to show in progress tho.

Cheers

Same here. I read that it wasn't needed, but I decided to include it as well.

Kelkel - yes, my partner was requested to send in a Statutory Declaration of Common Law as well, despite the instructions in the application guides.

I was upset that this might mean a huge delay in finalizing the application, as we were given 90 days to send it in, and I was concerned that the IO would not revisit our file until the 90 day deadline was up. We filled out the form, and as proof of common-law status, I just made a listing of the section in the "proof of relationship" section of our application (i.e. Cards, notes, pictures etc).

Anyways, we sent it in, and got our PPR about 3 or so weeks later.

Thanks Minna for letting me know about how quickly you guys recieved PPR after submitting it. That has me feeling pretty positive that January will be our month :)

I submitted one as well, after reading here about Buffalo requesting them from some people.

I just wish they would list them as required at the outset.

Keeping my fingers crossed that your situation will work out as well as Minna's did.

Thanks Mexicana! I'm hoping this is the last thing they're looking for. This is such a nerve racking experience. My boyfriend said to me the other day at least he'll never have to see me act this way again. This has been my worst I swear :)
