Si,
Hola
I have sponsored my husband and the application is in Bogota now. They just recently contacted his father in Armenia (Quindio) and said they have been trying to deliver papers from the Embassy. Hopefull this week they will arrive.

I am dealing with Bogota since my wife is from Medellin. We have submitted our application at the end of october and I was approved as a sponsor at the end of November. The application has been received by Bogota on december 3rd 2010. On April 7th 2011, we received the AOR, and since then, nothing has happened. So it's been about 7 months since Bogota has our file. We are keeping our fingers crossed to get some news pretty soon. This wait is very hard on us. Good luck to everybody.

Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), shows that bogota has the file.

Hi Everyone!

My husband is from Ecuador and so that's through the Bogota office. His application was received there at the end of June 2011. I'm just wondering, do they usually send the AOR by e-mail or in the mail?

Gracias! Suerte para todos :)

mail....well, most people I know dealing with Bogota received the AOR by mail. It took us a good 5 months to receive it.

Hi guys,
I am in Canada now, and my husband is in Ecuador, so we are going through Bogota, too. I am going to hand in the application today or tomorrow. Thanks to medellinguy and everyone on here who makes this site so helpful!

Keep us updated, mkapron.

Makool, any theories on why your application was so fast? The posted times for processing has increased to 17 months! :o

Good luck everyone!

Hi there after you receive the AOR either by mail or ECAS count 2 weeks by that time the visa office in this case Bogota will recieve however they will start to work on that file until later probably you will hear again in 2 to 3 months.

Good luck don't hesitate to ask if you guys need more help.

Does anyone know, by chance, about how many applications are received by Bogota per year? And how many are family class? I saw something online about it a long time ago, but I cant remember the page it was on.

Makool,
800 photos !?!?! That is impressive. I sent about 300, and I thought that was a lot! I am hoping that will be enough along with my other evidence. Nothing I can do now, because it is out of my hands. Congrats on getting the application through so fast... you are a beacon of hope for the rest of us Bogota applicants.
