Has anyone who applied for Canadian Experience Class apply for Express Entry today?

Is it allowed to apply in the new system for someone who has already applied for CEC

It starts today.

Check out of Express entry forum. There are a few people got in.

Obviously it started today.

Read my question again.

whoops, sorry.
From what I read from others here, yes you are allowed to apply EE with a CEC in process. I am not 100% positive on that.

If i had applied for the CEC i wouldn't apply through the EE. It's not easier, takes more time, will be more expensive and they do not give points for work experience if your work doesn't have a LMIA or whatever they call it >:(

I applied for CEC and didnt get my aor or cc charged. can i apply in EE too with new process ? just to try that if it gets picked sooner than previous process. no one knows..just wanna try. anyone with similar plans?

First off all it will not be more expensive - the cost is the same
they will count your work experience (even if you have no LMIA)
LMIA is only for those who have job offert - which means that the employer has to get LMIA in order to give you job offer that can be used in EE.
If you have no Jon offer (With LMIA) you will not get extra points and you will have to register in a job bank.
I applied for CEC but still waiting for my AOR so I also created a profile in EE. It is not difficult and as i checked online the applications after invitation will be similar but the process is supposed to be much faster compering to the process of old CEC and other programs.

You cannot have two application in proces. If you applied for cec but you have not received aor you can register for EE. if you have your aor you still can register. Registration is not an application so anyone can do it. when you receive invitation to apply you might have a tough decision. In this case you have to decide which way will be better for you. If your application on cec will be in process for quite long time I think it will be stupid to apply throuth EE as you will have to withdraw your cec application. If you will get the invitation soon and your application under cec is still untouched you can apply through ee as they say it will be a shorter proces.

Experts please advise.

There is no clear answer yet on this matter.

CIC has clearly answered this on their website - even tho it says FSW, the same is true for CEC...

30. I am currently waiting for my application for permanent residence to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Can I submit an Express Entry profile?

You may submit a new Express Entry profile, but it is not necessary. However, we will not refund any processing fees paid related to your original application. Your existing application will be processed based on the rules in place at the time you applied.

If you choose to create an Express Entry profile and are invited to apply, you will be required to submit a new application for permanent residence and the associated processing fees.
