Anyone applied the Canada Work Permit recently in NY Consulate

Hi,

Does anyone know the processing time for the Canada work permit in recent time in the NY consulate ? Today I submitted my application for work permit and they said it will take 30days. But wondering does it include the medical examination too ? Please reply if anyone has the experience......

what's would be your work in Canada? are you in US now? did you send it personally or thru post? I guess it's 30days processing time. Medical request depends on your work

My work in Canada will be a Software developer. I have dropped the work permit application to NY Consulate in person. Yes, I am in US now as a temporary worker. Could you please let me know if there is a way to confirm that they have received my application as I dropped the WP application in the drop box ? So I was wondering if there a way to confirm that they received my application.

I am about to do the same, but it will be the lawyer hired by my employer submitting the application for me. Has anybody done it in NY recently?

Did you send them an email asking for the status?
I submitted on Aug14th and still waiting..

Yes i sent case status inquiry from their website, got a standard reply that we do not reply to inquiries if it falls with in processing time.

So you mailed the application to the consulate and received the visa after only 3 weeks? Mine was sent a week after yours and it's been a month, but I still haven't got anything..

maybe it depends upon the kind of work ur lapplyin for i applied for a low skilled job and
they didnt even required me for a medical..i receive my passport with visa
i did include a cover letter..

Thanks. My future company hired a lawyer who did everything for me after I provided the documents and passport. The job is under NOC code A, and since it doesn't involve handling food or touching people, I don't think I will be asked to get any medical ...
