Hello all,
Was wondering if anyone applied for the study permit online in the UK, and have received a decision and how long did the entire process take?

I applied mine on the 12th June and am still waiting. Its two weeks today and the CIC processing time for UK says 2 weeks. Wondering if I should send them a message using the CSE tool or just wait out a bit longer :/

Need to be patient and maybe leave another week before sending a CSE although that may take sometime to get a reply. There seems no consistency in estimated processing times as have heard some people get a permit approved in days so just luck of draw.

I see, the only worrying bit is that I am going away on a holiday for 15 days on the 6th July, and If I get passport request or some other request while am out of the country then that is going to be hard isn't it

I do not want to get you worried. But the online processing time in my region says 20 days... This is the 7th week and there is no clue where my student permit is!!! I wish I had submitted mine on papers.

Good luck for your application.

sticking around this forum I am actually starting to regret submitting mine online, I should have submitted it on paper as you said but oh well; its done. Did you try contacting them using the cse tool?

I did contact CIC on question@cic.gc.ca and I got a response saying you should receive a reply on your specific case in 10 business days. However, reading some cases on this forum... applicants are saying that they never received any feedback from this email address although they had submitted two consecutive inquiries.

I also contacted the CIC office in my city (Beirut), they informed me that once your application is submitted online, it is no longer processed in your home country or the city or residency... but rather it is processed in the nearest hub station which in my case is Ankara (Turkey).

Contacting Ankara leads to only one auto-response saying: "due to the huge volume of applications we may not reply to you unless it is needed or necessary"!

I feel I am trapped in the waiting game until I get a response on system... sorry if it is too much details... but I needed to take off my chest to someone... :P

oh no, i do appreciate the details and i feel you; i can imagine it can get very frustrating but we got some more time to spare before uni starts. Its summer so some beautiful Mediterranean weather and delicious Lebanese cuisine should help you keep your mind off :P
