hello friends ,
I am writing this on behalf of my friend. He has recently applied for offer letter from cennential college , canada with 6.5 bands in ielts . And he has also got the offer latter fews days back . Now the problem is that he has lost his passport . what should he do know ? Do he has to give his ielts exams again ?
If he apply for re-issue of his passport and get the new one , will that solve his problem ? What if embassy rejects as on his ielts exam dates will be different as issue to expiry earliar and for the new one will be different ???? Anybody's help will be appreciated......plz anybody who read this give us few suggestions :(

If his passport is lost, there is no other way without getting a new passport for him. Hope he has the copy of old passport. Keep a copy of that together with the new passport copy and make a statement that the old passport was lost and replaced with new.

Only option for him is to get passport issued again. I don't know about other countries but if from India, he will first need to file and FIR also.

Anybody please help......its Urgent

hi ,
as he has got the offer letter with the old passport and as i know we should have to submit our original passport to the embassy ? And if he submit his new passport to the embassy , will there be any problem ?
As on new passport also everything will be same like same passport no. will be there also as he is getting his new passport re-issue on the basis of his previous passport no. , and also other things like name , father name , address , age , signature , passport no. , everything will be same...so would there be any problem with that ? Do the embassy also enquire about date of issue of passport ?
Do we have to submit our previous passport photocopy also wih that and write a letter for that ?????

1. No, just submit a new PP. CHC has nothing to do with your ILETS/lost PP, they get it verify via TRF number. You will get a new PP but with a new PP number.

If you are from India,

a. File a FIR, (and submit an affidavit at Police station and mention case as a 'missing', not lost.
b. Get FIR copy in original (not a 'nakal' report/affidavit).
c. Most likely, you won't get it processed under 'Tatkal'.

Thanks enfield ,
But my friend has now filed an FIR with a lost passport , will there be any problem in it ??? And hhe has also apply for an re-issue of a passport for the lost case .

Hi,

I did not see any Indian Passport.

But when the embassy issues a new passport, they write your old passport number along with other information, and you can also get a letter from the concern person at embassy with a statement that you have lost the passport, number xxx. Which would make an exception.

Submit the letter, and the new passport (which would have old passport number).

If you still have doubts, write an explanation to university explaining your problem (with your new passport and letter ), they will issue a new letter.

Nothing to fear,

1. Any logic in making this issue so complex? I lost my PP just 45 days before I applied for the visa, nothing happened (even with a different addresses on new PP and LOA). CHC need a valid PP, you do not need to mention/worry about the previous one.

Sorry to barge into this thread but i have a similar query. I am new to such forums, but i am hoping this will help in sorting out my confusion.
So i am planning to apply to canadian universities for the september intake. i dont want to wait till January. I have given my IELTS already. However, after doing so, I had to undergo a name change in my passport since all my educational certificates mention my family name and my older passport only mentions my first name with no family name. All other details between old and new passport are the same except for the mention of the family name. Now if I apply to any university, it will be with my new passport. Will it hamper my application if my IELTS result has only my first name written minus the family name (as in old passport) and I apply to the university with my full name (as in renewed passport)? A timely clarity on the matter will ease my worry when I begin the application process, which I don’t wish to delay because of this issue.

please help...
thanks in advance...
