Dear all,

Let's help each other by sharing our experiences of filling our cases under the new rules, effective 26th June 2010. Anybody who's planning to file can also register here...

We can list

1) The NOC we are filling in,
2) The concerned visa office,
3) Any other points that we feel could be relevant and of help to others and
4) Anything that we may wish to get clarified

Thanks and Happy filling... Good luck to all...

Kunal

Hiii,

im interested in filling for NOC 1122 and my concerned visa office is New Delhi.

I have given IELTS earlier Academic (on 10th April 2010) with 8 bands (L-9, R-8, W-7, S-7) but have to now write the General Training Test and I have booked my seat for 31st July at Patiala...

Will start all other process after I get my IELTS score...

Good Luck to all..

is it true they are not accepting academic IELTS? how come? we only need to prove that since english is not our primary language, we still know even if we take the GT or academic.

Hiii

yes its true they are not accepting Academic Score... please refer to the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp

im also taken aback by this as I had only recently given IELTS Academic... which NOC are you filling under???

3111 0r 3112.

but, has anyone tried submiotting their academic IELTS? coz in my case, it was not really intended for immigration, I was looking for a job in the US or canada and they required to have an IELTS with academic score of at least 7 in all aspect. but the job posted were for pooling purposes, so now I have decided to just use my IELTS for our possible re application.

Hello Everyone,

yes it's sad that they r not accepting Academic IELTS .......
and moreover,

Do we have to send ALL the Dox at once ?? or only , Passport copy , Visa forms , Fees payment and iELTS score in first phrase ? ...... oh god this confusion is killing me , as I found Official Information on BOTH the things, one says YES you have to SEND ALL DOx , other one says NO , ONLY First Phase of Dox are needed ...... dont knw what will happen ?////.........

COz, looking at this Canada Gazette > Part I: Notices and Proposed Regulations > 2010-06-26 on canadagazette dot gc dot ca, A Canadian Official site, there is no mention of sending all the Dox ( including PCC , Prrof of funds, Academics, Work Ex etc ) .

Only ITELTS score is required .

Request you to please give your opinion on this .

Hiii its true we have to send everything in the first phase, including original PCC, IELTS, proof of funds etc... and all work and eduction related documents....

so gear up for that...

Yes everything in first phase, as I understand it. Bad news is that we can't send our full docs to CIO for at least 4 more weeks since we have to wait 2 weeks for my wife to take IELTS and probably another 2 weeks after that to get the results. But will probably take us that long to gather all the other docs, letters and contracts from present/past employers.

Just hoping there are spots free in our NOC (3131 Pharmacists) when we finally come to submit our application next month!

Good news I guess is that the process is now shorter if we do get accepted.

Wayne.

OP6
Section 11.5 – Updated note on IELTS that both Academic and General Training tests are acceptable

page 32
Note: For the IELTS reading and writing tests, there are ‘General Training’ and ‘Academic’ options. CIC
only requires applicants to have their proficiency assessed by the ‘General Training’ test but will also
accept the results of the ‘Academic’ test
. .

In fact they accepted Academic even before, but it was an unspoken rule.

Yes Speed Post is very good option... one of my friends recently filed his case through Speed Post and they charged just Rs 534, where as other couriers were charging about 1400 Rs...

He got acknowledgement also that CIC has received his papers...

So go ahead and send a speed post...

Good luck...

Which NOC are you filing under and is it under the new rules applicable after 26th June??

Please enlighten the forum with your experience...

Thanks... :)
