Start with their twitter account.

Approach Canadian media (Globe and Mail, CBC etc), if they are interested in covering your story.

Write to your MP, if you are in Canada.

If possible, ask a mass media to run a story in your home country about perils of Canadian immigration system and its stupidities. Canada seeks more international students, if foreign media is running stories about how shitty their immigration system is for students, it will embarrass right ministers into action. For best results it should be in multiple media : print, social, youtube etc. Send some copies to canadian emabassy in your own country.

From time to time Canadian embassies hold "come to canada" events for students in various countries. If you are really motivated, then in your own country do a picket with pamphlets telling about perils of dealing with IRCC and weirdness of education-cum-work-permit system in Canada.

It will take effort. Quite a bit of effort.

I don’t think they will be interested in my story since I only waited for six months. Six months is nothing when comparing to people who waited for a year. But six months are enough though for me. I just want to let them know that while they are prioritizing family reunification for Canadians and permanent residents, international students, us, are suffering. We are wasting time and money, and some of our program is no longer than one year, but we need to spend half a year waiting for visas. I know they should prioritize their own people applications, but don’t they think spending a year for a visa is too long?

There is no harm in trying. A student waiting 6 months and delaying their eduction can be more devastating than a family reunification for couple of years. Family members can still spend a lot of time together using alternative visas -- like SOWP, Visitor visa, Super visa etc. A student cann't do a thing without study permit.

Make your case well, news media may be highly interested in it because it ruins name of Canada as a destination for global researchers and students. That in itself is a sizable source of revenue.

Start a trend globally on social media, tag local celebrities and political figures, an organised campaign can get their attention, at least they should make a decision against every profile and inform students, just delay visa stamping for successful student if you don’t want them to travel during pandemic
