Hello All,

Has anyone faced any consequences due to providing a different NOC code from the actual one even though say, both the codes are under the same NOC category 'A'? Does CIC get back to question or confirm before deciding? I have very similar roles as an engineer in the NOC category 'A' for computer and electrical engineers and it's too confusing for me to decide at this moment which one stands close.

Yes, it is a common cause of rejection.

If your duties and responsibilities do not match the NOC chosen it could lead to rejection.

Oh Yes, that goes for sure. I will go with the best guess and match but was just wondering, if there has been any case in regards to CIC questioning the qualification. My case is slightly different because my Masters was in Physics and I got a job as an engineer. There are a lot mismatches with regards to the educational requirements by NOC for the job. I was hired as an engineer because of the training. NOC requires me to have an engineering degree to be an engineer which is not met. I can solely rely on the roles and responsibilities.
