Hi,

Its really quite straight forward, just write a letter and start by saying why you are coming to Canada, how much finances you have etc (Attach proof) The more the better, they need to know that you will be able to support your self when you get there.

Talk about your qualifications and if you are ready to work as soon as you land, if not what steps you are taking to ensure you will be able to work.

Talk about who you know in Canada, what employers you have been in contact with and what type of jobs you are interested in.

Tell them about any relatives you have in Canada and about how long they have been there and what they are going to do for you when you arrive.

Talk about your job prospects and whether there is a shortage of people with your skill sets and any evidence you have of the province that you are moving to is advertising for people like you. How long you think it will take you to get a job? do you know anyone from your country with the same skill sets that has successfully settled.

Talk about your housing needs and what you have done to ensure you have a roof over your head when you arrive and that you have people to help you settle.

Really stress the point that you will make an immediate economic contribution to the Canadian economy and why do you think you will, taxes, bringing new skills, new cultures etc.

You just have to sell your self and show that you have done lots of research on your profession, place you intend to live, housing, jobs & family.

Hope this helps

Andrew

Dear Friends,

By the Grace of Almighty ALLAH. We have received our visas and Copr today. Few things i want to be sure of. There are 2 Docs of COPR for each person one with photo and one without photo. On COPR Marital status for me is written single and also on my spouse COPR it is written single. But at the bottom in accompanying dependents my spouse name date of birth etc is written and in my spouse COPR in accompanying dependents my name date of birth etc is written.

The Visas on our PPs has no Picture.

On both COPR it is written not valid for travel.

Please friends suggest.

Thanks.
Congratulations. Don't worry these minor mistakes at CORP will be corrected at the POE. Now a days visa stickers don't have any photograph. CORP is not valid for travel if you don't have a visa sticker on your passport too.

Wish you all the best. Do share your landing experience with us.

Hi,

Andrew
Hi

EFL stands for initials of our Program Assistant(P.A). There are various P.A at CHC, London having different initials like RIH, JMR etc. Last year each applicant had different P.A but now a days EFL is the one who is dealing with almost all of PNP applicants.

CHC London
Hi Atif

1: No you don't need to verify your documents from Canada but its better to verify your degrees from HEC, Islamabad before landing.

2: I'm sorry to say but property/gold evaluation papers are not acceptable by CHC, London. You need to have sufficient funds in your own account.

3: Kindly refer to my previous posts & you'll be able to find to what to write in Settlement Plan.

Prepare for your arrival

When you arrive in Canada, you will be greeted by an officer from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The officer will ask to see your passport and other travel documents. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.

When you arrive, you must have:

Your valid passport and/or travel documents. Your passport must be a regular, private passport. You cannot immigrate to Canada with a diplomatic, government service or public affairs passport.
Your valid permanent resident visa and your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). The officer will make sure you are entering Canada before or on the expiry date shown on your visa. Please note that this document cannot be extended; therefore, you should make sure to use it before it expires.
Proof that you have the funds to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.

The officer will ask you a few questions to make sure you still meet the terms to immigrate to Canada. They will be similar to the ones you answered when you applied.

You will not be allowed into Canada if you give false or incomplete information, or if you do not convince the officer that you meet the conditions to enter Canada.

If there are no problems when you arrive, the officer will allow you to enter Canada as a permanent resident. The officer will also confirm your Canadian mailing address. Your permanent resident card will be mailed to you at this address.

If you change your address within 180 days of arriving in Canada, you must notify CIC using this online tool.
Disclosure of funds

If you arrive in Canada with more than C$10,000, you must tell this to the CBSA officer. If you do not, you could be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

cash,
securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills), or
bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders.

What you can bring into Canada

Before you travel to Canada, see the CBSA website to find out what you can and cannot bring into the country.

Crossing the border with $10,000 or more?

This document is also available in PDF (487 KB)
[help with PDF files]

Money laundering and terrorist financing are international problems. Money laundering in Canada alone is estimated to be in the billions of dollars. To help fight these criminal activities, the Government of Canada has introduced the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.

Under the legislation, there are no restrictions on the amount of money that you can bring into or take out of Canada, nor is it illegal to do so. However, you now have to report to a border services officer amounts equal to or greater than CAN$10,000, or its equivalent in a foreign currency that you are bringing into or taking out of Canada.

This reporting requirement will assist the government in its efforts to:

investigate and prosecute offences related to money laundering and terrorist financing;
respond to the threat posed by organized crime; and
fulfill international commitments to fight transnational crime.

Return to Top of Page
Reporting requirements
How to report
In person at a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) office

If you are entering or leaving Canada and are carrying $10,000 or more, or its equivalent in a foreign currency including any combination of coins, domestic or foreign bank notes, and securities, such as travellers cheques, stocks and bonds, you have to complete Form E677 (105 KB), Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report – Individual. If the currency or monetary instruments that you are reporting are not your own, you will be required to complete Form E667 (87 KB), Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report – General. You must complete the reporting form, sign it, and hand it to a border services officer at the nearest CBSA office that is open at the time you are travelling.
By mail

If you are sending $10,000 or more or its equivalent in a foreign currency into Canada through the mail, you must complete Form E667 and include it with the money. In addition, you must complete a Universal Postal Convention label and attach it to the item being mailed.

If you are sending $10,000 or more or its equivalent in a foreign currency from Canada by mail, you have to complete Form E667 and include it with the item being mailed, and mail or submit a completed copy of Form E667 to the nearest CBSA office at the same time or before you mail the package.

Additional postal requirements may exist when importing or exporting currency or monetary instruments by mail. Please contact Canada Post for further information.
By courier

If you are sending $10,000 or more or its equivalent in a foreign currency to or from Canada by courier, the courier must have the person in charge of the conveyance complete Form E668 (56 KB), Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report made by Person in charge of conveyance, and attach it to Form E667, which you, the importer or exporter, will have completed. Both forms must be submitted to a CBSA office.

If you need help completing the forms, see the instructions on the back of the forms or contact the nearest CBSA office.
Failure to report

Currency and monetary instruments of a value equal to or greater than $10,000, or its equivalent in a foreign currency which are not reported, may be subject to seizure and the assessment of penalties or forfeiture. Penalties range from $250 to $5,000.
What happens with the information you give us?

The completed forms are sent to the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) in Ottawa for assessment and analysis. The information provided on the currency reporting forms is subject to the general provisions of the Privacy Act and is collected under the authority of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.

To obtain additional information or a copy of the required forms, visit our Web site at www.cbsa.gc.ca or www.fintrac.gc.ca. You can also call us free of charge throughout Canada at 1-800-461-9999. If you are calling from outside of Canada, you can contact us at 204-983-3500 or 506-636-5064.
