Only patience is a key or follow @Bryanna advice send them more documents which you think can support your application so this is another way that they can reply you as i send them updated info and didn't ask them about the update LOL but they send it self that background check is in process so you have to wait and new information noted hehe just 2 cent advice either just pray and wait

i send them docs on 1st Nov and got acknowledgement next day however on 18th nov i send them request for passport withdrawal and next day i got passport however application is still in process

i only got notification from VFS that they received additional docs and will send it to consulate but no update since or also from consulate.

is passport withdrawal same as withdrawing application. because u need passport and they can still ask for it back when its time to look at ur application if u didnt withdraw application?

Timeline :

PP request - 29th Nov
PP submission at VFS Delhi - 1st Dec

just checked VFS the consulate has finally dispatched the passport back to VFS on 12 Dec... so they had it for exactly 2 months. Now I hope its a positive outcome!

only thing im worried about is, we had booked tickets for dec 1 and we did not hear back from VFS so we cancelled the ticket and didnt buy new one with new dates. Would consulate be expecting new ticket with new date? would they reject based on that? how would they know if we just changed dates and didnt inform?

That doesn't matter no embassy required you to book confirmed ticket if there is delay they always advice book which can be cancel so it is not a issue good luck keep update us about your out come

My mum received her passport on Dec 5. with approved visa for 9 yrs (end of passport validity) - Total processing time 2 months

Finally we will be expecting passport back on day 21 India time.
We applied Oct 27th/28th 2017, paper based.
One applicant was former military, so I'm guessing that why processing was so long.
Now to wait for results!

Hello everyone,
My wife's work permit extension / BOWP approved as on 06-02-2018 and her old VISA and post graduation work permit was expired as on 30-03-2018.

She is planning to apply for her new VISA in this week or next week, she is waiting to get employment letter from her employer.

Is there any problem now as per immigration law and rules like she is staying there after visa expired. Her BOWP work permit is valid up to 05-02-2019.
