Hello Everyone, Me and my long term partner are thinking about getting married. But wondering if there are any consequences to it. Currently my partner is a citizen and I am a PR holder, we have been living together for over 5 years. What are the implications tax wise and immigration wise, how does this affect my citizenship experience in the future?

Thank you in advance.

No implications specifically to do with you being PR/spouse citizen.

Taxes: you are already common law and should check carefully whether you need to / should file jointly, and possibly should have been filing jointly before this. (It may well be better for you both)
