Any idea how long Canadian customs hold packages

Hi
I send me application package from Australia using Express International Courier (usually delivers within 2-4 days) on 9th May and it reached Canada on 13 May. It shows on Canada Post as well as Australia Post website that the item is with Canadian customs for review and further processing. No update on the package until now.

Just wondering, how long Canadian customs hold packages before they give it to Canada post for delivery? I am surprised why they hold a pack of documents for so long....

Any similar experience by anyone?

If it is through the postal system (not a commercial courier like FedEx), once your package crosses borders it becomes difficult to track because it enters a different postal system.

My experience with express mail from the USA is, once it hit Canadian Customs, the tracking goes dead, you won't know anything unless/until it arrives at your door.

Hopefully you got delivery confirmation, otherwise, you'll just have to trust and wait until you hear from CIC (a couple of months)...
