Hi

NEXUS Card requires Citizenship

No - it doesn't.

Hello Syclla,

So I am eligible for that card right ? From what I understood from the eligibility Criteria ? I know it doesn't require Citizenship !

Hello aries1981,

Unless you frequently travel internationally, it's really not that necessary.

My husband has a Nexus card (US citizen living in CA), and yes it saves time when he is travelling for business. But again, unless you are travelling on a regular basis it's not really necessary.

also remember that if you normally travel with someone else (ie. spouse or family) then all members need to have a nexus card to benefit from the nexus lane.

When travel with pet, can one use the nexus lane?

The pet must have a NEXUS card too.

I kid, you must be able to produce a valid rabies certificate for the pet in case they ask for one, even in the Nexus lane. Just remember, rules must still be followed all the same.

thanks :D

I, too, am getting a NEXUS card and will be completing my interview with the CBSA on May 3rd, at the Lake Erie office location. Very excited to be able to travel back and forth much easier now!
