Any IC designer apply to 2133?

I am a integrated circuit designer. I find myself able to match (or at least tweak to match) 5 out of 9 of the job descriptions under 2133. But I find myself able to match only one of the the job descriptions of 2147.

Interesting thing is, there is titles called "application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design engineer" under 2147. The immigration office seem to consider IC designer under 2147 rather than 2133.

I am going to file against 2133 anyway this year since 2147 is not on FSW 2014 list. But I wonder if anyone from the same field applying to 2133 as well. Maybe we can keep in touch and see how we are evaluated under this circumstance.

regardless of the titles, VO's will look into the JOB description and the duties being performed.
so, if you satisfy at least 60-70% of the roles for that NOC, you're good to apply under it.
good luck !

Indeed. My experience is a mix of IC design and electronics design. I am pretty confused because 2147 is a closer match than 2133 but 2147 isn't in the list.

It's funny that "digital circuit designer engineer" and "engineer, electronics" are listed in 2133 and not 2147. Then again "electronics engineer" and "electronics research engineer" are listed in 2133.

Any IC/electronics engineers that got through with 2133?

Hi, any update on this?

I am also a integrated circuit designer, and I found that the word "integrated" is not mentioned in the official description of 2133, but it exists in 2147.
I think 2133 mainly focuses on the integration of IC blocks rather than IC design itself.
However, is there anyone managed to submit IC-design related jobs to 2133?

Unfortunately, I didn't find much information in this regard. I am going to apply for 2133 and see if they'll accept. As others have suggested I think it comes to down to the number of matching "duties and responsibilities" for 2133.

yes absolutely, it doesn't matter what your TITLE says, if you do at least 60-70 % of the roles for the NOC for which you want to claim the points then full points will be awarded for it.
