Hello PPl ,
Please forgive if this question/thread is already in discussion.

Is there any employee whose employer has filed an LMIA for the job he is currently working.??
My employer is willing to apply lmia for me , BUT not sure how to proceed as i am already working from past 3 years and its his companies first LMIA
I have filed my immigration file under Old CEC rules in Nov 2013 did not hear anything after File number in Jan 2014.so want to get ready for EE just in case.
any inputs / advices are highly appreciated.

My employer posted my job ad in order to get LMIA for me. And then he received millions of resumes (well, not literally). So it's probably not gonna be an easy route. We are still figuring out the next step, probably gonna be PNP.

Yes, my Wife's employer did just that. She has been employed with the company for 5 years (first under a PGWP and then under an LMO using the old rules) and the Employer has now submitted the application for LMIA as her work permit expires soon.

It does not make a difference if you are already working there or not. As mf4361 said, the first step is for your employer to advertise your job (and make sure they follow the rules closely, and advertise in multiple spots, and take it seriously). Only after advertising the job and proving that no Canadians are capable and willing to perform the job, can the employer apply for the LMIA.

In my Wife's case, not a single qualified applicant applied for the position, so we are hopeful. It of course, depends on your industry and how many Canadians would like to do your job. It is not advisable for your Employer to lie and say that they could not fill your position, as it could result in harsh penalties for the employer, and possibly you not being allowed to apply again for some time.

Even my employer advertised the job and yes many applicants applied but the fact is no resume is matched. I guess only couple of resumes matched.
