Any doc stating TWOV status before travel

I am planning to travel on from Mumbai to Ottawa, Canada and then back to Mumbai on a visitor visa.
How do I confirm that I am eligible for TWOV (Transit without Visa)status? and is there a document or a stamp that I need to acquire?
Or the airport authority will be assured that I don't intend to leave the airport during the transit stop by just looking at my ticket and visitor visa?
I want to be sure before I commence my travel.

If you are planning to visit Canada on a visitor visa why do you ask if you don't need a visitor visa?

If you are going from Mumbai to Ottawa where do you plan to "don't intend to leave the airport during the transit "?
