Hello Everyone,

I've recently completed my BS in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Telecommunication. Just completed and still looking for a job, so no experience yet. I am interested in doing Masters(MEng Electrical) from Canada.

My grades are somewhat average. CGPA: 2.85 (69.5%) Can you please suggest me any Canadian university where I can get admission with these grades? Costs are also an important factor. With these grades and the money I am looking to pay, I know I will not be able to get to top rated universities. So some nice university(Mid ranked) with accredited degree and low fees.

Memorial University has low tuition fees, seems perfect for my circumstances, but I'm not sure if I can get admission there with these grades. The min requirement stated on their website is a second class degree. I'm not sure about Canadian second class degree, do my degree falls in second class (CGPA: 2.85 (69.5%). Any thoughts, whether I can get admission at Memorial or not? Also can you please suggest me any other University where costs are somewhat similar to Memorial and where I've good chances of getting admission with these grades.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Yes there are large chance to get acceptance from the university. Also apply in "Concordia University".
There are similar cases who got accepted with even lesser CGPA than yours. So go ahead and apply. All the best.

Thanks for your reply, it was encouraging. Memorial university accepts English proficiency certificate issued by the University I last attended for my undergraduate studies, as they told me. So do I still need to go for IELTS? Will IELTS be required for Visa application process? Or I'm good to go with English proficiency certificate issued by the university? Also what are your thoughts about university of Regina? They've "1st Class/Upper Division in all degrees" requirement stated on their website for Pakistan. Do my grades meet this requirement?

IELTS is good plus for VISA and admission.
If you have provided English proficiency to your university and they are fine with that then no problem.
Again, for visa processing, IELTS is good plus.

As far as I know, Memorial Univ offers admission on the basis of English Proficiency Letter but make sure that your English Proficiency Letter must be in a sealed envelop from your university which you will send them.
So just secure your admission with that letter and when you apply for visa, attach your IELTS result card along with that English proficiency letter for visa processing.

Yeah . you are saying right .. it has been sealed by my university (Iqra University, Karachi, Pakistan) .. but the issue was that do i send my IELTS 6 score along this certificate or just send only certificate .. . thanks you have solved my issue . and majority experts suggested me to send just this certificate ...one more thing, at the time visa is it mandatory to send this certificate or just IELTS will be okay ?

Just send that sealed English proficiency letter. Don't send IELTS score along with that letter caz your score is low and they can put a question on that.

Hello.. I recently applied into Concordia and Memo masters in Computer Science.. my undergraduate GPA is 2.65.. Will that be enough for me to get in, even provisional acceptance?
