Okshan, I hear sope people have received additional document requests from Tokyo Office, How about you?

I haven't heard any news yet. My lawyer sent the visa office an e-mail on November 10th but still there is no news. The visa office hasn't replied to my lawyer so there is no way to know what is happening with my case. I am worried. Is it possible that my visa will be rejected? Why is it taking this long? NO correspondence from them since the AOR and my Ecas still says received by visa office.

The visa office was supposed to contact me by October 30 but it's almost one month delayed.....any ideas?

Hi Okshan, do not get worried. This seems to be NORMAL procedure at the Tokyo Office. Some people expecting communication by Oct 24th received nothing either and contacted them. After a month or so they received some document update requests. I also know another guy who is exactly in the ame position as you!

Hi wpc71,

thanks so much fir your encouraging reply. I have a question. What kind of documents do they ask for? I mean for document updates?

Hi, the one I know was asked for IELTS and some university documents. I do not know if they had submitted them originally or not though.

No news yet. Still waiting. The lawyer said to give it another two weeks and then will find out probably. If not, I think the lawyer will get in touch with the visa office again. I think from my understanding the Background Check is taking long. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Thanks, the weird thing about Tokyo office is that they did no action on files for a long time or if they did, there is no reflection on the ecas. The one I know submitted full docs in April and is still in Received by Visa Office status. Normally this means that eligibility is yet to be determined and the file is NOT in process yet. However, I personally think they are doing something but are keeping quiet unless they need some more documentation. To be optimistic, I assume they are doing everything (including background checks) and will eventually contact you for medicals and the rest. Let's hope so!

Hello,
I just sent my application to CIO today from Japan. Hope they will recieve it soon

Hi Okshan
That friend of mine received medical and passport request from Tokyo office. How about you?

Dear wp71,

Thanks for the latest update. I really appreciate it. As for my case though, nothing is happening. My lawyers sent two emails to the visa post with one month intervals in between and there still has not been any response to the mails. Also, I sent an e-mail using the case specific enquiry form and I am still waiting for a reply.

My ECAS also has not changed to " in process". I am thinking if everything is normal. My lawyers say that sometimes the visa offices take longer than usual even though they give deadline on the AOR. So, he says there is nothing to worry about and just be patient. Easy said than done though.

Well, I think I just have to hope for the best. Regarding your other friend, was his ECAS status updated regularly? With mine, it's even hard to tell if they have even reviewed my application or not.

Japan2Canada,

Hello. Good luck with your application. So, your office I presume is Tokyo? Do you mean to say that you have submitted your documents to the visa office or NOva Scotia for initial screening? Well, in any case I wish you good luck and all the best. Let's keep each other updated on this forum so we know what is going on in Tokyo office.

Regards,

Hi Okshan
From my friend's experience, I can tell you it is all right! Her status was in "received by visa office" for almost 8 months with no progress. But she just received medical and passport request along with updated proof of funds. Her status changed to in process the same day she received the letter. She also did not receive any replies to her emails from Tokyo office. I guess you just need to wait some. I do not think you have already waited for 8 months!

good luck

Dear wpc71, I guess you are right. Well, I am really glad that at least someone from the Tokyo office is getting a medical request. That is a good sign. I will just wait and see. Nothing else to do. Thanks so much. It's a big relief. At least, there are other people on the same boat as I am.

Hope I can give good news. Will let you know first. Thanks always for your support and encouragement. How about you? What;s the situation on your file?
