Any advantages having relatives such as uncle, aunt, grandma here in Canada

Hi everyone,

like the subject title says. I have my mom's side of the family here in canada who are canadian citizens over 30 years. My aunts and uncle immigrated to canada a long time ago so now, I am here trying to immigrate to canada as well. I have all the criteria that is needed for CEC. However I was wondering if having relatives here can be beneficial. On the CIC webside they were asking those question when I went through the "eligibility search engine". I have my mom's birth certificate translated also. It would be very nice if someone could help me, since I'm very new on this forum. Thanks everyoe

There are no "points" or additional benefits of having relatives in Canada - it is not a criteria used in the CEC class.

The primary assessment criteria is your Work Experience and Language (which are related in assessment), as well as clearing your Background and Medical checks.

Why don't you check the Federal Program, that one I believe you get points because having relatives in Canada.
