Not a question about what it means just a question about whether it applies only to applicants after 10th of June 2015 or even ones before? Not sure when this provision of C-24 came into effect? Thanks.

C24 came into effect June 11. The intent to reside clause would impact applications received by CIC on that date or later. Applications received before would not be impacted.

For clarification:

It is correct that the revisions to section 5(1) of the Citizenship Act, governing requirements for the grant of citizenship to adults, including the provision referred to as the "intent to reside" requirement, came into force on June 11, 2012, and that those amendments only govern applications made as of or after June 11, 2012.

That is: only applicants applying since June 11 must meet the requisite intent to continue to reside in Canada requirement.

Beyond that, however, various provisions in Bill C-24 came into effect at different times. Many became effective June 19, 2014 when Royal Assent was given. Some are deemed to be in effect as of April 17, 2009 (these relate to changes such as those regarding citizenship by descent). Some very important revisions came into force on August 1, 2014. Others came into force on May 28, 2015 (such as those prescribing new grounds for revoking citizenship as well as the procedure in revocation cases).
