Hi-
I'm an American citizen who entered canada as a tourist in 2011 with my daughter whom has dual citizenship(US & CAN). Within the first 3 months of our family being together my daughter's father and I decided to get married and establish ourselves in Montreal,Canada after having been together for 5 years. To my dismay unfortunately soon after our wedding and moving into a leased appartment we began to have problems;tried to work them out but had a domestic altercation where my husband was arrested and is still being tried for the charges. Now I find myself still wanting to continually live in Quebec for the sake of my daughter and her fathers relationship. I know he can sponsor me as my husband, but he'd like to divorce as soon as possible. I guess my question is is there any class that I may fall under to continually live in Canada and apply for PR? If so, What is it called?
Thank you for your speedy attention to this matter.
