Hello everyone. Thank you for accepting me as part of this community. I am currently awaiting Permanent Resident status through spousal sponsorship. I have been issued with a 'bridge-the-gap temporary work permit. It has been sent to me with a restriction stating I cannot work in education ans I am a teacher. I need this amended asap as I have a job offer based on this restriction being taken off. I have spent 2 full days at the Canadian Point of Entry trying to get the border agents to amend it. They have been very close to doing it...but not close enough. Has anybody suffered the same problem ? Does anybody know of a fax number that I could send an appeal to make the changes ?

Thanks in advance

Have you completed a medical yet? If so, when?

Yes, I had my medical completed on October 19th and uploaded October 27th. I took it with me to the border both times!

The medical has to actually be reviewed and approved by a medical officer. You are likely trying too soon.

Yes - I agree with the previous comment. You probably haven't waited long enough for the medical to be processed. You want to give it a full three business weeks (from the time it's uploaded). So hopefully sometime next week the medical has been processed and your work permit can be amended.

My medical examination has been processed and is in the system. That isn't really my issue, my issue is that they wouldn't amend the work permit for me at the point of entry. Thanks though

Your initial post made it sound like they couldn't, not that they wouldn't. If they won't do it, then try another border crossing or do it through IRCC.
