Am I Now Eligible for Renew Permanent Resident Card?

Hi Leon and others,

I have now stayed in Canada for a total of 800 days in the last 5 years... Can I now apply for renewal of permanent resident card? I am currently in Canada. Will there be any issues?

Also, if I stay for 1 more year, will I be eligible to apply for Canadian Citizenship? Will there be any issues here as well? Thanks.

Yes, if you are in Canada and have more than 800 days in the past 5 years, you can apply to renew your PR card.

If you stay another year and then have more than 1095 days in Canada in the previous 4 years, you can apply for citizenship.
