Hello,

I was an international student. After completing my one year post graduate certification in HRM, I got PGWP for one year. I have got positive response from HRC on my LMO and extension for 3 yrs in work permit. I am doing full time 44hour/week for more than 15 months as a permanent employee. That job is in NOC list skilled worker class B though it's not regulated. All I want to know is, Am I eligible to apply under CEC? Or what are my options?

If i am eligible whats the process time on an application within Canada/Ontario.

Please advice me will be appreciated.

thnx

Salman,

Here are the eligibility requirements for CEC:

•plan to live outside the province of Quebec
have at least 12 months of full-time skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization
•apply while working in Canada or within one year of leaving your job in Canada
meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).

Skilled work is considered the following:

•Managerial jobs (NOC skill type 0)
•Professional jobs (NOC skill type A)
•Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC skill type B)

Since you have over 12 months of experience in Canada, considering it is skilled experience (0, A or B) and assuming you meet the language requirements, you would be eligible for consideration under CEC.

Determine your NOC and if you havent already, take the language test and then you can further determine if you are eligible. CIC is showing that the current process is taking 13 months per application.

Good luck eh...
