Please if anyone in a similar situation can help me determine my status. I read everything online and am still confused. Info about me:
1. I am a Canadian citizen and have a passport. I was last living for the longest time in Canada last in August 2011 for university. After University I moved to United Arab Emirates to be with my parents. I only visited twice again in 2013, and 2016 for a month each. PS. Canada has a tax treaty with United Arab Emirates signed 2002.
2. I have NO home, spouse, or dependants in Canada.
3. I have a Canadian bank account; and a valid drivers license expiring in 2021
4. I have no personal property in Canada such as car or furniture
5. I have no social ties in the form of organisations or memberships
6. My health card is not valid since I didn't use it for years so that privilege went away
7. I filed a tax return last in 2016, for the 2015 year reporting zero income because I thought I had to file a return since i didn't declare non-residency ( even though I have no taxable income). I have been lazy to file it after that and never did it again since I don't even live there.
