Hello,

I want to apply for a TRV to visit my GF who is an International student in Ontario. I plan to travel from Mumbai on 15th Dec and return on 4th Jan 2019. I have quit my current job and have accepted a new offer from a different company. My last day at my current job would be 14th Dec and My starting date at my new job is 7th Jan 2019.

Now, for Proof of means of financial support -
It is obvious that I will not be able to provide an employment letter as I am planning my travel between switching two jobs. I can submit all other docs like Salary Slips, ITR for last 3 years, my bank statement.

1. Do not make any travel plans nor book tickets until a TRV is issued.

2. Have you previously traveled to other visa-required countries such as the US, UK, EU, Australia, NZ, etc?

3. Do you own property or have a lease in your name? Do you have any dependent family members such as your parents or grandparents? Financial investments? Ability to afford the entire visit including airfare without depending on anyone?

Hello Bryanna,

Thanks for replying.
I have only traveled to Thailand once, that's all. It requires a visa on arrival.

I do not own a property on my name, but I do have my Mother and Grandparents who depend on me in my home country. I have enough funds to afford my entire fare and all other costs on my own for this trip. It's just that I will be leaving my current job and then joining the new one once I'm back from Canada.

Unfortunately, travel to Thailand won't count.

You probably won't want to hear this: IMO, it would be best to defer your visit to next summer. By that time, you would have become a permanent employee which would indicate strong employment ties.

Currently, you do not have any strong ties or assets to return to India. Being between jobs won't work. A job offer letter is not in the same league as confirmed, permanent employment.

Even if you choose to apply after several months, you would need to work hard to prove you have other ties apart from your employment. You would also not want to mention about a relationship/your girlfriend unless you plan to take your relationship to the next level soon
