I am a Canadian Citizen originally from Philippines. Both of my parents already died (although have step mom but already 86) I have no husband, no children., no common law partner, ect..

QS: 1. Can I sponsor my sister with her husband to come to Canada as immigrant?
2. How much annual income required of me as a sponsor?
3. How much money I spend in processing the application and the payment of my sister and her husband for
getting their immigrant status if approve?

Many thanks for your answers.

1. Yes, you can sponsor your sister and her dependents under the "Lonely Canadian" stream.

2. If your sister and her husband have no children, you just meet the LICO for three people, $37, 234.

3. With the fees, medicals, PCCS and other costs, it will be around $2800.

Hi there!

I received your positive response to my question about sponsoring my sister and her husband under Canada lonely stream."

I will clarify the meaning of the term and some numeric figure in your response;
2. What does LICO means?
3. $ 37 , does this mean the required income from me, the one who sponsors? $ 37 thousand annual income?
4. 234 , does this means 234 thousand Philippine money ? Please clarify the numeric figure.

Thanks,
adela

Low income cut off, $37,234 is one number

This is how much income you must be making per year in Canadian dollars in order to sponsor someone else.

Hello Staff in the Immigration Forum,

Many thanks for your clear response to all my questions which I now understood. I went to the forum and have read them there too, but thanks for sending it to my email.

My last questions:
1. Do you encourage individual to file their application as long as they understood the clear category in which the one being sponsored are qualified and classified? If yes, why? If not, why ?
2. Where can we access the package of application of the "Canada Lonely Stream" in conjunction with the Family Sponsorship?

Thank you,
adela

Hello Experts,

Follow question on my interest falls in category "Canada Lonely stream" by which I am allowed to sponsor one of my siblings (with her husband which you already answered "yes" and thanks to this again). In this case, this sister is my full sister of the same mother and the same mother.

Related QS:

1. Will I be allowed to sponsor one sibling (with a family or no family) of same father but of different mother.

Background:

We were six children of same father and same mother but my mother died at young age of 33 when all of us 6 were very young children. My father got married a year after death of my mom.

I asked the question on top if I will be allowed to sponsor a sibling to become immigrant from the 6 children of my step mom but we the same father as I already explained the scenario in background paragraph above..

I will be happy to hear from you.

Many thanks,
adela

Processing times vary depending on the VO.

As you are married, you can't sponsor a sibling.
