All stages are passed but Security is not started

Hi everybody,

Let's discuss our progress and updates, possible timelines for security to pass or to receive portal emails under this thread. I am seeing more and more people here who has all the stages are passed but security is not started.

In my case, I received 2 GU, my Background first changed to In progress and then changed back to We are processing as 2nd GU almost 2 weeks ago. I called IRCC last week and an agent told me I passed everything but security is not started. Most of the people who got 2nd GU receive their portal email in a couple of days or in a week.

My AOR is 15 May 2021, my VO is RROC (for more details, please see my signature below), and right now, I am still waiting for any update or the portal email.

I know another case also, who is my friend and has AOR in March 2021. He got his 2nd GU 2 weeks before than me and he is still waiting for any update or portal email. In total, 1 month passed for him after 2nd GU. His VO is RROC also.

My Vo is Edmonton and Aor in April.
I called IRCC on July 30 and knew that everything passed but security not started. Forgot to ask on what exact date eligibility was passed.

Have you ever received any GU or your background check ever changed, one time or multiple times?

I had the first GU two months ago. Second one not yet. Background never changed after R10.

You may receive portal email soon I guess, but still a black box, no clear pattern

Hi ,I called ircc today and the agent told that everything else is passed and security not started . She told my application is in final stage and she also mentioned that she don't know exactly how much time it will take to complete the process.

That's the weird part, it seems 2nd GU means Criminality and Info sharing are passed for some cases like mine, but for the rest, usually it means all stages are passed including Security.

Security not started means it is in final stage, makes sense and it is good to know. However, question is, how long )

Is it good to call the agent 2nd time in one day . I forgot to ask soo many questions .

Be careful not to call them too much, I heard they keep track of our calls.
My securiry check could take long as I traveled pretty much in past years tho. Also, my VO Edmonton is famously known with slooooooow and loooooooong processing time

Hi guys. For me everything (except security) passed MARCH 02 2021... Still no progress - security not started. 6 month. Prepare yourself, that some cases can take a lot of time. I was not prepared and waited my COPR in april - still nothing...

Thats soo long.
I think it also depends upon our previous travel. I also heard that if we travelled in some middle east countries and some other countries the security will take longer than usual. I am not sure how much correct is this statement.

I`ve never been in middle east. I travelled to 3 countries in total previous 10 years + 1 country 1 day Transit.

Noone knows why some cases take so many time. I know 1 case took 33 month (almost 3 years) and other 28 month. But this is really unlucky guys. I feel myself unlucky too.
