ALERT FOR THOSE WHO MADE PAYMENT BY DD FROM INDIA :o :o

Guys,

I was planning to make the processing fee payment by DD.

I went to ICICI, HDFC, SBI, Western Union, Post office all of them are not able to provide services.

All of these bankers (ICICI, HDFC, SBI) are saying Demand drafts are valid only for 3 months..... whereas some of my friends here on this forum have made payment by DD.

Initially, just to sale the DD and collect there charges of 200-300 Rs they say "Yes, The DD will work", If you ask about RBI's new circular and tell me how important this DD payment is for you then they just backout saying that is valid only for 3 months.

I suggest all of you who made payment by DD's from India contact your branch immediately and confirm the validity/expiration date. Kindly reply on this post so that others can benefit. I am not posting this to create any sort of chaos but just want everyone to make sure that they are on safer side.

RBI circular of 2014 also says it should be valid for 3 months, find the link below,

I'll check with Citibank and HSBC lets see what they say about it. Do you have any other recommendations.

I have credit card too but it requires 2D security pin and I am afraid that if CIC tries to charge on credit card and if the pin is asked then what ?
They wont give me a call to ask for a pin... so I was opting for Demand draft.

Anyone else who is facing the same problem or have used the credit cards from India which needs security pin to complete transactions.

I have sent dd from icici bank, it was encased by NDVO in one week time. No problem in my case.

Do you remember the date of submission of your application and the date on which the DD was en cashed. Just want to confirm that its more or less than 3 months.

I also went to HDFC & ICICI & SBI - they;re very clearly saying that the validity of DD will only be of 3 months....need help

I have taken dd from icici bank for my landing fee. Ndvo encased it in one week time.
