  • I have a tech job offer in Alberta working for a government entity. Does this qualify for the Alberta Tech Pathway?
  • NOTE : I am not eligible for the Alberta Opportunity Stream because I am on a Spouse Open Work Permit.

If you are eligible for Express Entry and government entity is eligible and registered as a business. They have to show the recruitment process and that they couldn't hire anyone Canadian/PR or any Albertan etc. The government entity NAICS code must be on the list too.

https://www.alberta.ca/system/files...es/lbr-aaip-tech-pathway-naics-codes-list.pdf

Last tech draw was 22 people and there are almost 3000 profiles in the tech pool.

Thank you for the information.

I don’t know if the government entity is a business; I don’t think it is.
Also, the NAICS code does not apply because the entity is a public service.

I am not eligible for AOS either.

It seems that even working full time, paying taxes, and having a job offer does not give any chance for PR.

Through Express Entry only but not Alberta PNP-EE. You don't have a job offer because your employer is not eligible. With PNPs cut, even Alberta is very focused on who it nominates. Check the draws to see as focus is in AOS and there are 30k in that pool for just a few thousand spots.

I have more than 15 years of experience. I worked as a manager for big tech companies with about 5 million in yearly revenue. I did my best, but age is working against me. Also, there are other AOS rules (SOWP). It is what it is.

You need to focus on Express Entry if not eligible for AOS or tech pathway. Not sure your EOI score would be high enough without Alberta education. AOS are for those on LMIA or who studied in the province.
