Hi there, ill try to find good path for me. im working under semi-skilled lmo since almost one year. i have chance to change my work permit on open cause my husband is skilled. but i would like apply on PNP (Semi-Skilled Worker Category). So if i`ll change on open work permit, but ill stay with the same company, with valid contract, can i apply on PNP?? or better is first try apply on PNP, then after few weeks change on open permit. This open permit is very good solution for me, cause i can get extra job. now, as semi skilled i have work permit on work only in my company. And everyone who knows rules semi skilled workers for sure agree with me that hourly wage in semi skilled occupations are veryyyy low.thank you

Why do you want to get PNP? Is your husband can't apply for PNP as he is under skilled NOC?
As you know for semi-skilled NOC, you must be under an employer-driven nomination. Is your current employer willing to sponsor you?
As far as I know, as long as an employer of a semi-skilled TFW willing to sponsor their nomination, it doesn't matter whether they are under close or open work permit.

Ill try to find best way for us. If he is cabinetmaker, he dont have pass english test before apply on PNP? only with this he could have problem before nominee. Anyway i thinkl about future. We can forgot about PR if he dont know english good and for sure he will never pass this test, so doesnt make sense, that he start with PNP.
Yes, right PNP now semi-skilled employer driven nomination is the best for. I have experience, and im working in the same place since 1 year. And i speak in english as well. I dont know what i have to do. Mayby stupid question, but i dont understand well how looks "employer willing to sponsor you". thank you

When you are under employer-driven category for PNP, you and your employer are applying together, that's what I mean with them sponsoring you,
if they are willing to apply for PNP. By the way, in what province are you in?

Alberta. My boss told me that she can to do almost everything to help me. Few weeks ago she applied on supervisior position for me. just in case what kind of path ill choose. we are waiting on decision about lmo. if she get supervisior lmo i can be skilled, but cannt apply on PNP cause i saw that CIC dont accept skilled Supervisior PNP aplication. so i have 3 choices:
1. stay unskilled and try PNP with my boss,
2. Change on open work permit and stay with my company as kitchen helper and try PNP with my boss sponsoring (like semi skilled)
3. change on supervisior work permit, but what next

I dont think that my husband is right person to apply on PNP or PR, cause english.
i`m in canada 1,5 year so its time to think about long term future.

Congrats. That's a good news for you if your boss is very willing to help you out. Grab the supervisory position.
Let me correct you, if you'll get your Supervisory position you can apply thru Skilled employer-driven category for AINP.
What you are talking about (CIC not accepting Supervisory specifically Food service supervisor and Retail Supervisor) is under the Canadian Experience category for federal application is true but not not under PNP where they are still accepting the nomination. You have to apply ASAP as this category may close sooner than we expected.

im consfused right now. This is what i found:

The following are NOT eligible under the AINP Employer-Driven Stream, Skilled Worker Category:

Supervisors, foremen and tradespeople, working in a Compulsory or Optional Trade in Alberta (including Chefs, Cooks, and Line Cooks).

so i thought that rest of food service also not eliible if CIC kick out cooks.

but i found this too:

As of September 13, 2013, Managers/Supervisors in the Service, Retail and Foodservice Industries are subject to all current skilled worker category criteria, as described above.

CIC for me is sometimes like matrix. not easy to find clear answer if u dont know what u looking for:)

anyway i have idea. apply on skilled work permit, then after weeks change wp on open (true is that open is better for me, i need extra job), then apply on PNP:)

i wish everyone boss like i have. They are Canadian, im from Europe. but i show them every day that i work hard and good, so they help as long as they can. thank you

The Supervisors on the the first one you mentioned are under specific trades people wherein the so called "red seal" is required from them before they are eligible for AINP.
Now, you follow the last one you mentioned, it tells you everything.
Good luck.
