I have submitted my AINP form on 5/11/2009 and its received in Alberta on 5/12. What is the next step that happens, are they going to send me a file # ? If so when ?

I had the NOC Code for IT , but luckily before the list was revised my app was received . Does it make any difference if my app was not even reviewed till now , will it be considered per new NOC list ?

Can we leave to Home country after applying for AINP ? Is there is a required amount of time that we need to stay in US after applying (on Valid H1B when applying) ?

How much time I need to wait for the next step to happen ?

Check Alberta website: http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/srsvisaholder.html

File number notification will take up to 4 months and candidate assessment will take up to 4 months. So up to 8 months total.

And the website says "Any applications postmarked on or before May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the previously posted list. All applications postmarked after May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the list currently posted." So you are fine.

It also says "A Candidate must be currently working in the United States and possess a valid visa in one of the following temporary skilled worker visa categories: H1-B, H1-B1, H-1C, E-3 at the time the AINP makes a final decision on the application." So you must maintain your H1-B status till your candidate assessment completes and you get your nomination.

Anyway, you won't hear anything from them until your file number is issued.

Good luck!

Just sent off all the applications today with the postmark on the envelope saying 05/19/09

Hope all goes well, Noc 2174

I must congratulate you John. You sent that just in time. I am also 2174 and luckily I sent the application on 5/13.

John, I would urge you join this thread so that we can keep track of all the applications that were sent in May 2009 and discuss the progress of our cases.
