I know it says at 18 you can sponsor in Canada, but what about British Columbia? I know you are considered a adult at 19, but can you still sponsor at 18? Just a question of curiosity, i never understood.

Agree it is confusing as elsewhere on the immigration site it says under 19 considered a minor yet the sponsorship section says can sponsor if 18 or over. So taken literally an 18 year old could in theory sponsor a minor, a fellow 18 year old or below although of course they would need to meet all the requirements, financial and so on so unlikely to succeed .Cannot advise on BC just agree is odd discrepancy.

Immigration is a federal matter, so the drinking age in BC does not matter. CIC says you can sponsor once you are 18, so that is it, in every province and territory.
