After you submit, how long until you application starts being processed

I submitted my spousal sponsorship application a month ago, but I haven't heard anything and am unable to link the application to my online account.

The CIC website states that this may be because "We haven’t started processing your application. Your status will only show once we start processing your application. There may be a delay between the date we receive your application and the date we open it."

Based on personal experience, can someone give me a ballpark or range of what that delay timing might be?

First communication on this is AOR - Acknowledgment of Receipt along with which you receive the file and application number and this is taking approx 8-10 weeks these days. You will only be able to link your application once you receive the application number.
So far you can't do anything but wait, and you can check current trends in the tracker spreadsheet.
