Hi everyone,

We’re in a similar situation and would love some advice from anyone who has gone through this recently.

We received our CoPRs in February 2025 (valid until January 6, 2026).

At that time, my wife (the principal applicant) was pregnant, and our baby was born in June 2025.

We informed IRCC through a web form on August 11, 2025, after getting the baby’s birth certificate — but since then, we’ve only received an acknowledgment and no further response.

Now our CoPRs are expiring in about two months, and we’re not sure what to do next.

I’d really appreciate the community’s thoughts on these points:

1. If IRCC doesn’t reply before our CoPR expiry, should we still travel or wait?
2. Some posts suggest waiting until IRCC adds the newborn, but what if they don’t respond before the expiry — will our CoPRs be cancelled automatically?
3. Would it make sense to travel just before the expiry date, in case no update comes, or is that risky?

Has anyone faced this recently and can share what worked for them?
Hello, how did you manage to sort this out? I am in exact same position right now

Hi,

So finally we added our New Born by sending Upfront Medical. Filling up form 008e and 4506 for me and my wife. And paying the adding dependent fee.

Uploading all of these through the web form.

Our CoPRs got expired but application status is now open

thank you for your reply.
by your application being open, do you mean you haven’t had a new COPR sent and PR is still processing?
