This question is for US to Canada applicants especially, but anyone with knowledge on it is welcome.

What kinds of things must you keep track of from your original country once you land in Canada as PR, and continuing on to Citizenship? I've heard here and there taxes specifically are a bit different for US citizens who move to Canada, but I'm not completely sure. Thank you in advance for your information.

Filing Canadian income tax is no different for Americans than for anyone else.

The tax issue with being American is that you have to file American taxes regardless of where you are living. So if you are an American moving to Canada, you will have to start filing taxes once you are living in Canada - as well as continuing to file US taxes. Same would apply if you moved to a country other than Canada.

That's what I mean then I suppose, I still have to file American tax papers from my Canadian income? Do I still have to pay any American taxes? Thank you for the information.

You might, yes. There are tax credits you can take on your U.S. taxes based on the amount of taxes that you pay in Canada and that will significantly lower your U.S. tax liability, but maybe not all. Fun, huh?! :o

Anyone with any more information by chance?

Speak to a tax agent in Canada, they should know more.

There isn't much I know about it all since I am still waiting to hear a decision. Try asking the US and Canadian Border Patrol at the point of entry see if they know anything. There are guides you can find online that talk about it all also. Other than that, information about immigrating to Canada seems to be a secret and difficult. There a ton of things that need to be done while visiting / living in Canada that no one answer is the right one as everyone has a different one. This forum page is the only place where the answers are consistent. Good Luck!

ahh... my favorite subject... US tax obligations for Americans abroad.

This has been discussed many times in this forum. I recommend the threads below for starters:
