After mailing application & profile info!

Hi!

We FINALLY mailed our application

I've got 2 (unrelated) questions for y'all!

1. When will we know that our file has been rec'd/is being worked on? We mailed our application from Syria, and due to sanctions we were unable to send it with a major courier company.. therefore, we can NOT track the package! Will the CIC website only display info on our file info once they've finished processing the sponsorship application?

2. I want to update my profile info! But I don't understand everything..

App. Filed.......: Is this when WE sent the app, or when CIC started working on the app?
AOR Received.: What is this??
File Transfer...: I'm assuming this is when the file goes from Canada to the visa office, right?

For outland apps, you often won't get any notice until around 1 month later, when you can expect AOR and/or sponsor approval around the same time. AOR is just acknowledgment of receipt... CIC sometimes send you an email that they received the file.

App Filed: date that you sent your app
AOR Received: ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RECEIPT - a confirmation letter (usually an email) sent to the sponsor to acknowledge that your application has indeed reached the Missassauga office.
File Transfer: yes.
