I was filling the family information and there is questions ask about spouse/common-law partner.
the system asks "do you or your spouse have any kids"
then ask" what's your relationship to the kids". the option is either parents or guardians.

I am confused since my wife has a kid from her previous marriage. (both of them are Canadian citizens)
what shall I choose?
Can I just say No Kids in the first questions?
I am not sure if this question are trying to ask me if there is any kids I would like to bring to Canada
thanks

Hi Andrew,

Your spouse has a kid, so choose 'yes' to the question.

First and main rule with CIC : always be honest in all your answers.

The family information form has to be filled for ALL members of your family even if they are not accompanying you.

I am confused by the word "Guardian". Shall I consider myself as the kid's guardian even my wife only holds half of the kid's custodianship?(the other half goes to her ex-husband)
I just don't like the idea to choose guardian option first and then CIC ask me for proof of custody. There is no other option other than parents and guardians
